Mancat Monday

Mama got a new stand mixer–just to make treats for me!  I’m such a lucky mancat!

Mama: Ahem.  I’ll be making treats for *all* of us, but I’ll make some special ones for you, honeyboy!

Awww–I just love my mama!

Sure, We’re Impressed!

We’re happy that you are breaking in your new grill with bratwurst that we won’t get any of.  And we’re thrilled that you’ll have people over that aren’t going to be giving us any scritches or attention.  In fact, we’re so excited that we’ll start resting up for it right now!

By The Way….

We still haven’t forgotten that you ate all of those hot wings Sunday night and never offered us any!

Watch your back! These lasers mean business!

CSI: Milwaukee

It started out as a normal fall day.  Connor was in the bedroom with mama, getting his morning scritches and making biscuits:

“mmmmmm…..”

And I headed out to the kitchen for a little breakfast.  Imagine my surprise when I was greeted with this sight:

“An empty food dish!!”

Our food was missing!  I immediately looked for clues and found none!  What dastardly coward would steal innocent kitties’ food?  Who do I call for help?  Are there other reports of missing food?  Help us track down the culprit!!

Mancat Monday

Now, really, you dare to make a seafood dish and not share any with me?  And I’m sitting here looking so handsome and everything!

"Hmmph!"

An Ultimatum

OK, listen, lady….this is the third time this week that you came home smelling like steak (and yes, we even know it was Black Angus steak, too) and we did not get any.  Not even a nibble.  We are holding your uniforms hostage until we receive something in return.  Some wild Alaskan Salmon, perhaps.

Oh, by the way, don’t even try to blame the adult beverages that you were drinking, either…we know you just blatantly refused to bring us any.  We have contacted the proper authorities and they are investigating!

“You are not leaving this house!”

Our Long Weekend

Hi everyone, it’s Connor today!  We had a very nice three day weekend with mama.  Mostly we just hid in the house in the air conditioning, but Sunday she went to a cookout and took this fabulous treat with her:

"It's a white chocolate fruit tart."

She’s been checking out the new Cooking Channel, and loves it so far.  There’s a lot of ethnic cuisine, plus a show with nothing but mixed drinks.  There’s even a baking show!  Mama is very excited.

As for us kitties, we’ve been helping out by knocking over wastebaskets and playing Thundering Herd of Elephants at strange hours (we don’t want mama to get bored!).  Lizzie even did some maintenance on the laptop:

“OK, so just let this update and it will work fine.”

She also wants you to note how the external hard drive and mouse matches her collar.  Sheesh, ladycats and their fashion statements!  Have a good Wednesday!

The Photo Game

Our friends The Crew tagged us for a game.  Here’s the rules:

Open your first photo folder.
Scroll down to the 10th photo.
Post that photo and tell the story behind it.
Tag 5 more bloggers.

So we opened our first folder and here is the photo:

Yum! Scallops, crab, and tilapia!

It’s a photo of what mama was cooking for dinner (big surprise).  She was making  lemon pepper pasta with seafood, and this is what the preparations looked like.  You can bet we were dancing around underfoot!

Now for the five other bloggers:

The Daily Mewsing

Wendy’s 3-D Cats

Meezer Tails

It’s All Good

If you’ve played already, that’s OK or if you don’t want to play, that’s OK too!

We also had the honor of being featured on Wendy’s LOL Spot yesterday!  She did a great job and we wanted to give her a shout out!  Have a good Wednesday!

Mancat Monday

This is MY mama!

In other news…

Mama’s family St. Patrick’s Day dinner was yesterday.  Auntie made the corned beef and veggies, and mama made the soda bread (which, of course, we didn’t get ANY of!).

Home made soda bread

And corned beef and all the trimmings!

Then they played a game where they had to find things before a timer ran out.  How strange–us kitties just play games until we are done and then take a nap.  We don’t like timers!

It’s yet another sunny day here, too.  We haven’t seen any robins yet, but the weather is in the fifties.  We hope this continues!  Have a good Monday!

The Dangers of Cheese

Hi, Lizzie here today.  I want to tell you about a darker side of myself.  Normally I’m very well behaved (for a cat, anyway), but there’s one thing that will turn me into a drooling, slavering monster–cheese.

It starts out like this: mama gets out a few pieces of string cheese or cheese curds (we *are* in Wisconsin, after all)and I pick up the scent.  My nose starts twitching, my whiskers go forward, and my brain locks down.  I’m on a mission.

My target

I forget who I am, where I am, all I want is CHEESE!

"Lizzie, no!" "Cheese!"

I don’t heed mama’s warnings.  I’m a swiping, snarling animal (well, I AM an animal, but you know what I mean!).

"LIZZIE! GET DOWN!" "CHEESE!"

And do you think I score any?  Do you think I am rewarded?  That would be a big fat NO!  I am unceremoniously tossed off of her lap on to the floor, to share my troubles with my brother.

"Did you get any?" "I don't want to talk about it."

It’s hard being a cat!  Have a good weekend, and I hope you have better luck than I do!
