What’s a kitty to do? Our secretary keeps claiming that life gets in the way and she’s too tired/caught up/incoherent to post for us. Does anyone want a used mama? She’s old, overworked, and not very reliable, but she can cook and clean and loves to snuggle. We’ll give you a good deal!
Anyway, she went to Irish Fest on Sunday and had too much food and Irish coffee, then came home and passed out. She *did* bring this home, though–it’s an Irish Charm Willow Tree Angel:
As usual, she stared at guys in kilts and listened to the pretty accents, and went home with fiddle music in her head. Our mama is really hopeless!
We’ll light a fire under her and get her back on track with blogging and visiting–we’ve missed a lot of stuff and wanted you guys to know that we haven’t forgotten about you!
Well, it’s Monday again! I’m going to report on our weekend. Saturday we did nothing at all but lie around. It was nice to do nothing and snuggle with mama while we did it.
Mama was at IrishFest all day yesterday. She had her corned beef sandwich and Irish coffee, and had a good time listening to the music and watching the dancers. Here’s a new group at the festival, called Kintra:
They had dancers and even some female bagpipers! They had everyone rockin’!
There was Celtic Canine demonstrations, and mama loved on these huge woofies:
There were Setters and various kinds of terriers there, too. Agilities went on all day.
Then there was the main reason to go to Irish Fest–the Trinity Irish Dancers!
Halfway through the festival is a parade, with more traditional bagpipers.
The festival isn’t just about music and food, though. There’s the cultural village which showcases all the contributions that Ireland has made to society. This year there was a exhibit of “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe” where you could actually walk through the wardrobe and into Narnia. There are also genealogists that can help you trace your family.
And here’s mama near the end of her day there–hot but satisfied!
When mama got home she took a cold shower and we had a long nap together. She still has fiddles playing in her head!
Hi everyone! I’ve gotten over that whole box thing (and no, I DON’T need to go to boxhab–I can quit anytime I want!). It’s hot here again, so mama has the A/C on, so Connor and I have to curl up in sunbeams like we’re freezing and make mama wonder about us. Sometimes I burrow under the blankets, too (and no, I did NOT get trapped and need to get rescued this morning–that’s just a rumor).
It’s payday for mama, so that means she’s off this weekend. Irish Fest is going on right now at Milwaukee’s lakefront, and she’s going on Sunday. Good food, good music, and lots of hot guys (and some in kilts). This is the festival’s 30th anniversary, so there’s no telling what will happen! For the 25th anniversary, Jean Butler from Riverdance was a surprise guest. She was every bit as graceful live as she is on TV. Mama will have her camera and will be taking pics. Have good weekend everyone!
